Alexia is a writer and award-winning journalist who was born in Kuwait and grew up in Egypt and the U.S.

She’s worked as an editor at Vox and an executive producer at Al Jazeera, and her words have appeared in Bloomberg Businessweek, Catapult, The Atlantic’s CityLab, The Guardian, Guernica, The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Nation, Orion Magazine, Vice, and other publications.

Alexia received an MFA from the New School in New York and has attended the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers’ Conference and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. Her short fiction has appeared in The Carolina Quarterly, Cleaver Magazine and Fourteen Hills, and she’s currently working on a novel.
